Halloween Party Ideas

Fall is in the air 🍂 and we're just around the corner from Halloween! While it can be fun for the kids to dress up and do some trick or treating, it's also fun for the adults to have a party of your own or have some families over for some spooktacular treats! At The Leaf, we're all about any opportunity that brings people together - so we're sharing some fun ideas that you can use to bring your crew together this month.

Set the Stage

To set the scene, put together your playlist! Have fun with this, and cater it to your audience. If it's a family party, have your kids join in and make toilet paper roll bats or paper spiderwebs. Gather all the pumpkins and decorations you have, and set up your party area together. This can be a great way to include the whole family! It doesn't have to be fancy, just fun.

Games + Activities

Kicking off the party with some Halloween games will get everybody moving! Here are some ideas for kids and adults that are sure to be a good time:

  1. Donuts on a String: While the traditional route usually involved bobbing for apples, you may not be up for dipping your face in a bucket of water 😉. Donuts on a string are a great alternative! Simply tie a long string around a donut, attach them to something higher than your height, and see who can finish their donut first (no hands!).

  2. Pumpkin Carving Contest: You can't go wrong here, everybody loves to carve a good pumpkin. You can do this freehand (harder) or have patterns ready to go, along with your tools. Spread out some newspaper on the table and have those trashcans nearby to catch the insides of the pumpkins! For some extra laughs, set a timer similar to the baking shows to get everybody moving and see what they come up with in 20 minutes.

  3. Spooktacular Mystery Box: Grab a box with a lid and fill it with "mystery gooey items" (fruit, noodles, gummy worms, and anything that you can find that might be harder to guess). Blindfold your guests and have them hold their nose to reach in the mystery box and see if they can guess what's in their hands! It's sure to be a slimy time.

Halloween Recipes

After all of those activities, your guests are sure to be ready for some appetizers. Our Trufflo Wings, Crispy Brussel Sprouts, and the Hummus Platter are sure to be crowd-pleasers - and you won't have to do a thing but call The Leaf and order them! Finger foods work well with a crowd that will be walking around mingling, showing off costumes, and jumping in on some activities.

For some sweet treats, consider some festive kabobs, stacking marshmallows and gummy worms! Candy corn is always a must, and putting together some spider web goodie bags filled with traditional Halloween candy will make everybody feel as if they've just been out Trick or Treating.

These are some simple ways that you can gather everyone together without breaking the bank, or going to too much trouble!
