The Best Cocktails to Have on a Rainy Day

We have curated a list of amazing rainy day cocktails you can make at home to get you through the month. There is nothing like coming in from a rainy day, getting all warm and cozy, and having a cocktail.

We have chosen four of our favorites for you to try out.

Espresso Martini

What’s better than a warm coffee on a rainy day? A coffee with a splash of booze.

Step 1: Fill a cocktail shaker with crushed ice.

Step 2: Add 60 ml of your choice of vodka.

Step 3: Add 14 ml of Kahlúa, 25 ml of fresh espresso, and 14 ml of simple syrup.

Step 4: Shake, double strain into a martini glass, and drink up!

Dark and Stormy

You don’t need to have all the bartender essentials for a strong rainy day cocktail. The Dark and Stormy require only two ingredients — 2 ounces of dark rum and 8 ounces of ginger beer. Combine, stir, add ice, garnish with lime, and enjoy.

Mulled Wine

Mulled wine takes a bit of time to make but the reward is worth the wait!

You’ll need a bottle of dry red wine, an orange, cloves, a couple of cinnamon sticks, 2-star anise, and a couple of tablespoons of sugar or honey.

Step 1: Combine all ingredients in a big pot and bring to a simmer.

Step 2: Reduce the heat, cover, and let it simmer for 15 minutes to 3 hours.

Step 3: Strain, garnish and serve warm. For an extra kick, try adding a bit of brandy.

This classic cocktail is perfect for a stormy day and pretty simple to make.

Step 1: Add ice to a cocktail shaker.

Step 2: Add 2 parts of your favorite whiskey, 1 part sweet vermouth, and 1 or 2 dashes of bitters. Step 3: Rub orange peel around the rim of the cocktail glass.

Step 4: Strain the drink into the glass and top off with a maraschino cherry or two.
